Add a clip, use the curling iron or flat iron, spike the ends - do whatever it is that makes you feel pretty.

If it is to short to put up, then try using hair taffy and flipping out the ends. It looks nice, adds body and shine. My hairstylist just recommended that for me, I am in a wedding on Saturday.
