Any chemical treatment, dye, perm, etc., will add stress to your hair. A dark color will contrast too much with your scalp and make your hair look thinner. Be conserative and have some highlighting done which will add depth. Also, get a cut above the collar to reduce the pull on your hair. Be sure to use a good quality shampoo, conditioner and other hair products.

Biotin is a good dietary supplement for hair. Be aware though you are not going to get instant results from it but you're likely to see a difference in several months. Remember this is working from the inside out. As a bonus, you'll probably find you also have stronger nails.
