My dad and his side of the family all have thick full hair, my mom and her side all thin/balding...I'm 26 and still have a full head and have my dads type, was wondering if the thing about mothers side is ture, also can stress or wearing of a hat make your hair thin...? Also what can I use now to prolong my thick hair?
Thank you

Stress and hormonal changes as we age can definitely affect you. Dad's side had thick hair, even when over 80 years old (grandpa lived to be 96) and we kids had thick hair when young but it's thinning, for the boys and girls, now that we're older. My hair looks now like my mother's did when she was my age! Agh! My 45 year old brother isn't actually BALD like my uncles (Mom's brothers) were at that age but he's obviously had thinning and his hair is nowhere as nice as it was 20 or even 10 years ago. Sorry, if I knew a way to prolong the thickness, I would have done it.

what i heard is that it depends on a certain kind of hormone that causes hair to thin and fall out, but i would say that stress can have some effect on hair thinning, i dont think wearing a hat has anything to do with hair thinning.

All of it is certainly true. Stress, wearing hats , also it could be in the genes of thinning hair. Well , to prolong your hair I think you should:
1. Always condition you hair
2. Wear a satin or silk scarf at night when you go to sleep
3.Also wear a satin scarf whenever you wear a cotton or wool hat because the material could pull your hair out on top.
Good luck!
