Or, be an egghead. Another kitchen item that can contribute to thicker hair is the lowly egg. Simply crack an egg over your hair before shampooing, and toss away the shell. Massage it in for five minutes and then rinse it out. Since egg is basically animal protein (albeit nonhydrolyzed), it has the same effect as the specially formulated shampoos.

I have also heard that rinsing with beer works. Once a month use a can of flat beer after shampooing. Choose a beer that does not have a strong odor. Shampoo and rinse hair as usual. Pour the flat warm beer on your hair and work it through. Rinse with lukewarm, not hot, water.

Big Sexy Hair is a fabulous line. I recommend using their volumizing blow dry gel. Work that through your wet hair, blow dry your hair upsidedown, and then put in some hot rollers. Conair makes some inexpensive ones that work really well. Put them in your hair (don't worry, it doesn't have to be too neat, but be sure to comb your hair before wrapping it around the curler) and then leave them in for about 10 minutes. Take them out, spray on a little Spray and Play hairspray by Big Sexy and then shake the curls out and finger comb. You may want to use a curling iron to fix the front pieces as you desire. There, instant volume!

They always say that a shorter hair style will hold the best style because it's not weighted down. I would focus on blowdrying upside down and use a roound brush to lift the hair at the roots to build height.

Add a volumizer to damp hair before you dry and style too, that should add some volume.

Don't just go to the drugstore and buy a bunch of products....you may end up not finding the right one. If you're willing to pay a little more, go to a beauty supply store and ask them for suggested products that would work for your type of hair. Usually they know what you'll need.

You should try Kerestase Volumactive spray, its light and won't weigh your hair down but it will add volume if you use it before blowdrying. it also helps to strengthen your hair.

Hair thinning is just like a hair cut, but instead of taking off length you take out bulk. Hair thinning is great for certain hair styles. If you have long hair you don't really need it thinned. But for shorter hair styles thinning is a good idea. I have short, thick hair, and I get the front sides thinned so it's not so bulky and in my face. It works great!! Most of the time you can go to a salon and get it thinned for less than the price of a normal hair cut. They can do it dry.

You can get a body wavy in your hair. I'd definitely consult your stylist. You don't want it too curly. And in most cases, you'd need to see what type of curlers you'd use for the process. When I was younger, every perm I had was little rollers.

My hair doesn't really grow either - i bought clip-in hair wefts from Salon Services for about 鎷?0; they're better than hair extensions because they don't damage your hair and you can take them out and put them in whenever you want.

Just eat right and maybe take some vitamins. Also be good to your hair. When it's wet only comb with a wide tooth, and don't over brush it you can cause damage to the hair strands. When it comes time to buy shampoo try something that is vitamin enriched for hair.

I'm not sure that it is actually thinner. I think it appears thinner because the hair is growing the entire strand back instead of starting from the point that was chopped off. When you shave it cuts you hair off at it's thickest point and then continues to grow from there. I think that the hair follicule can become damaged and not grow back (this can happen with eyebrows) so you eventually have less hairs growing back.

I have the same problem, I recently figured out the answer. You have to find a stylist who has the same problem. I have always had to have my hair thinned, it seems most stylist are afraid to thin too much. A stylist who understands is your best bet. I found mine in Tennessee at the Smart Style in Wal-Mart. Yes...all you have to do is ask her to razor out the really thick bushy sections of your hair.

Razoring doesn't really take off much lenght mostly bulk so that would be the best idea.

YES! I just got my hair cut in a tapered bob and the girl did an incredible job of thinning it so it would go straight. See, I have naturally thick, poofy, curly hair... But whatever she did was perfect! Granted I still have to flatten it with an iron, but it takes less time than it used to. And believe it or not the stylist was at Wal-Mart of all places. (Previously I had gotten my hair cut at a pricey salon and she claimed to have thinned it out but it was still poofy) I think she did some kind of special cut to the ends to solve this problem. A good way to hold curls is by using rollers rather than a curling iron. Dampen your hair, put some gel in it and then roll them up in curlers. No heat is necessary and it doesn't matter what kind of gel you use. You can let the hair dry naturally or you can put a blowdryer to your hair. Once the hair is dry, you can take off the rollers and your hair will stay. This works better because your hair dries while it is curled. It will last all day too. Ever put your hair in braids before you went to bed as a kid? You wake up with wavy hair that lasts all day. If you don't want to do this method, you can use suave. Thats the hairspray I use. Its cheap and it works pretty good.

before you curl your hair, spritz it with got2b curl spray (i don't know it's real name but it's a green liquid). when your hair wrapped in the curling iron, use tresseme *spelled right?* hair spray. don't buy anything that depletes the ozone, though!

I have extremely thin hair and I have found that Tresseme hair spray is the BEST! It works great on wavy curls and when I want to put it up. You don't want to put too many products in your hair, b/c it will weigh it down. Try a 2 in one shampoo that cleans and conditions. That way you're not covering your hair with a heavy conditioner. Then apply a volumizing mousse. Blow dry upward and curl, then spray with a little hair spray. You can even try to find a little (travel) bottle to keep in your purse, just incase you need a touch up at work!

Herbal Essences Shampoos and Conditioners made for thin hair. Such as Citrus Lift. i dont know if they sell it everywhere anymore but Herbal Essences is a very good brand of Shampoos for all different kinds of hair

I use Tresemme Conditioning Shampoo and it works wonders because the conditioner is inside and doesn't weight the hair down.

I also use a Nioxin Scalp Treatment conditioner (at salons mostly....Regis), and it has thickened my hair as well as a healthier scalp - It tingles too due to the Menthol that opens the pores in the scalp. Do this and finish with a "cool rinse" and your hair should be shinier and thicker....

I also struggle with thin hair and never know whether to buy a shampoo for thickening, colour, protection or shine. My hairdresser said that you can use more than one shampoo - try using a volume shampoo first followed by a shine enhancing one! The other option is to use a good thickening shampoo and light weight conditioner and a good shine spray after styling. I recommend 'Shock Waves Xtrovert Shine Spray'

Always try and rinse your hair with cool water - this will smooth down the hair follicles thus giving a smoother, shinier finish.

Drinking lots of water, eating well and including lots of omega-3 (oily fish etc) in your diet will improve your hair too.

If you have brown hair; I have heard that rinsing your hair with tea (make a big pot of tea - without milk and sugar :-) and keep it in the fridge) will add a great shine to your hair. NOT RECOMMENDED ON BLONDE HAIR!!!

I have thick hair and I had it thinned ONCE. The advantages were short term.. it looked better to me was basically it. The disadvantages were when the thinned part started growing back in... the shorter hair started getting tangled in my longer hair (and all of my hair is straight, I can only IMAGINE what it would have been like had it been wavy or curly). Their are new ways to straighten hair out there that can be good , theirs the Japanese silk treatment , it is very expensive but lasts 6 months and your hair does not burn or get damaged and they stay very straight and look very healthy.
